Food and Nutrition

I will be adding recipes of some of my favorite foods that have helped me lose weight. If you have food ideas or recipes please feel free to add them here.

Some basics to follow are:

1. Drink plenty of water I drink about a gallon a day drink more or less according to your needs.

2. Eat small meals 5 to 7 a day (this is easy with Usana’s Reset).

3. Stay positive, things will not always be easy.

4. Exercise at least every 2 days.

5. Address any issues whether past or present that could be hindering you mentally or spiritually. Please check out the Guide to psychology Dr.Raymond Richmond does an excellent job of guiding you through understanding your own psyche.

SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE!

Blueberry Spinach Fiesta

This is one of my favorite breakfast or after workout shakes.

1/2 cup frozen whole blueberries

1/2 cup fiesta fruit mix frozen (costco bulk frozen fruit mix with strawberry’s, mango, papaya, pineapple)

1 cup packed uncooked frozen spinach

1 serving vanilla Nutrimeal

12-16oz water

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth then enjoy! I know spinach sounds like it would taste odd but you won’t even taste it! Has about 300-350 calories.

Mmmmmmm! Chocolate

1 1/2 cups ice

1 serving Chocolate Nutrimeal

10-14oz water (or milk)

Put it all in a blender. Blend till smooth and enjoy! Milk tastes creamier but adds a lot of calories. Has 230 Calories with water and about 400 calories with low fat milk.

Mocha Almond Fudge

Great for breakfast as a high fiber pick me up.

1 cup strong chilled coffee

1 cup ice

1 serving Chocolate Nutrmeal

1 serving Almond Fibergy

Put it all in a blender and blend till smooth scraping the sides if necessary. Drink and enjoy! If you want a real coffee buzz then make ice using the coffee replacing the ice in the recipe.

My favorite low calorie meals:

Try to use organic vegetables whenever possible and replace regular mayonnaise with Safflower mayonnaise.

Wraps:

BIG Bird Wrap

1 Flatout flat bread wrap (low carb whole grain with flax)

1 Tbs. Safflower mayonnaise

2-4 slices of roasted turkey or chicken use about 100 calories worth usually 2 slices

(try to use low sodium and nitrate free meats)

1 Roma tomato slices into 6-8 pieces

Enough Romain Lettuce to cover the flat bread

Spread mayo on flat bread lay lettuce down so that it is going across the short length of the bread. Now lay the tomato slices down evenly and cover with your Bird. Now roll it up and chow down. Has about 350-450 calories depending on how much meat you put on it.
